I see these establishments in every mall I visit and sometimes have a hard time choosing which salon to go to since all of them boasts of their excellent services and affordable prices.
One of the more popular nail care centers is Beauty & Butter. This modern nail spa lounge owned by Mikael Coyiuto and established in 2009, provides luxurious pampering in a fun, creative, and techno-savvy environment.

Beauty & Butter prides itself in its superior nail artistry and cutting-edge nail care practices which includes their organic nail spa products and gel polish technology. Being a nail junkie myself, I was so happy and excited when the Negros Bloggers were invited to try their services. Located at the 3rd floor of the SM Bacolod North Wing, upon entry you will instantly feel its unique and homey ambiance because of its fun interiors made even brighter by colorful walls and throw pillows. Sit comfortably on their sofas, read a magazine, watch a movie on their TV screens, or tinker with their iPads while highly skilled nail technicians, called Buttercups, do their magic on you. Everything was just so relaxing!

Among their many services, I opted to try their Footsies — Sole Saving treatment, an intensive conditioning for extra moisturization with manicure and pedicure, worth P700.

I tried their gel polish for the first time. The entire process took a bit longer than your usual polish. There is the primer, base coat, 2 to 3 coats of the colored gel polish, top coat, and the drying process in between layers. I tried it on my toes using Orly Gel FX in ‘It’s Up To Blue‘ shade.
It’s my first time to experience getting gel nails!
As for my fingers, they applied regular nail polish in almost the same shade of Orly. I was also happy with the way the service was carried out. The buttercup (nail technician) assigned to me was very careful and meticulous. I also like it that the staff were all friendly and accommodating.

Furthermore, Beauty & Butter goes the extra mile when it comes to not just cleanliness of the facility but more importantly, the sterilization of tools. After sterilization, the tools are individually wrapped and opened in front of the customer when ready to be used.
The 4-step sterilization process goes as follows:
- Wash tools with soap & warm water. Towel-dry.
- Soak tools in medical-grade disinfectant. (30 mins). Towel-dry.
- Place tools in UV Sterilizer (10 mins) then flip tools to sterilize other side (10 mins).
- Seal tools in Sterile Pouches. Pouches are only opened in front of the client.

UV sterilizer can kill most of the bacteria on the tools in as little as one minute
Another thing I like is that they only use premium nail polish brands like Zoya, an organic brand that has no harmful chemicals. It is safe to use even by kids and pregnant women.
