I’m sure many women are familiar with different skin care products such as lotions, cleansers, toners, moisturizers, sunscreens etc. as well as various cosmetic products. But not many are acquainted with emulsions. Even I used to know little about it and only learned more when I started using one.
An emulsion is defined as a suspension of small globules of one liquid in a second liquid with which the first will not mix because of their chemical properties. An emulsifier preserves the interrelation so that both oil and water can be suspended in the emulsion. An emulsion not only softens the skin but also maximizes the absorption of other skin products that you apply.
I’ve been using the Laneige Balancing Emulsion Moisture for about three (3) months now and so far I have no significant complaints about it. Not once did I experience any skin irritations and breakouts. I really love it! After application, my skin feels instantly smooth and hydrated. I like its light and watery texture which is different from regular moisturizers. This emulsion is creamy but gets watery when rubbed between your hands.
I enjoy its extremely refreshing feel on my skin and how easily it’s spread and absorbed. Its light consistency doesn’t leave any non-sticky feeling. Thus, my face feels moisturized and refreshed and looks very dewy and moist. I use this after cleansing and toning with the Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture.
One of the things I like about this emulsion is the scent. It’s just amazing! It has a light scent that’s calming and stress-relieving. I’m also fond of the packaging because it’s simple yet classy, easy to use, as well as hygienic. It comes in a high quality plastic case but instead of a screw on-and-off cap (just like Laneige Power Essential Skin Refiner Moisture), it has a removable pump which dispenses just the right amount needed. Furthermore, it’s removable so you can use it to the last drop so nothing is wasted. You can use this for a long time since you only need about two to four pumps for your whole face.
The Laneige Balancing Emulsion Moisture is suitable for normal to dry skin. Among its ingredients are Jojoba Oil and Royal Jelly which effectively moisturizes dry skin. It also has Bio Dusali which is extracted from fermented seaweed and gives energy to the skin and promotes keratin turnover. Another ingredient is Hyacinth extracts which purifies the skin from harmful elements leaving skin moist and transparent.
My only rant about this emulsion is that it doesn’t have SPF protection and it’s quite expensive compared to other emulsions. But since it’s so effective, I really don’t mind the price. It’s all worth it! A tip for those who want to purchase this is to buy it from online stores which sell them at a discounted price (such as IBBI) instead of buying directly in a regular Laneige store.
