With all the things I do as a wife, mom, businesswoman, and blogger, it’s hard to find time for myself. Although all these roles are rewarding and fulfilling, a little bit of “me” time and some relaxation would really be nice. What better way to do this than to pamper myself by going to a salon. This is one of my most favorite forms of relaxation because not only will I get treated and feel like a queen, I’ll also look like one.

The next time I visit Manila I’ll definitely go to this little cozy salon called Lemon Nail Salon and Spa. Located inside Better Living Subdivision in Brgy. Don Bosco, Paranaque City, this relatively new salon has interiors that are inviting and relaxing, from its cheery yellow and white theme to the comfortable cushioned Philippine-made rattan armchairs. The salon offers services such as massages, hand and foot spas, hair removal, and mani-pedis.

Lemon Nail Salon and Spa provides excellent services by using high quality products. If you think that you will pay a lot for any of their services, then you are wrong. They are actually one of the inexpensive salon within the area if not within most of Metro Manila even though they use high end nail polish brands.

For starters, they use Orly Top2Bottom for basecoat and topcoat and then customers will get to select from hundreds of colors from brands like Orly, OPI, Essie, Zoya, Butter London, Chanel, Sally Hansen, Neutrogena, and Revlon.

Unlike other salons, they don’t charge additional cost if you are choosing among Orly, OPI, Essie and Zoya. They do charge a fee of P50 if choosing from high end signature brands like Butter London or Chanel. If you want your polish to dry faster, they make use of Seche Vite (Dry Fast Top Coat) for free. Another good thing about them is that they have so many colors available per nail polish brand.

Just so you know, they are one of the cheapest salon to offer Orly Gel Fx Manicure and Pedicure in Metro Manila. Their gel manicure using all-original Orly Gel FX only costs P280 (P300 for the pedicure) compared to other salons that charge as much as P1,000.

The salon’s mission is for women to experience the best service and products there is at a very affordable price. They feel that the customer should pay for the service, not the art collection. They also boast of a team of well-trained nail techs who all have sanitary permits.

They are likewise all about cleanliness so all their tools go through a 4-step cleaning process after each client. The process goes as follows:

1. Sanitize — They wash their nail cutters, pushers, nippers and brushes using hot water.
2. Disinfect — They disinfect their tools using alcohol. This process reduces the presence of germs and bacteria.
3. Towel Dry — They pat the tools to dry to prevent oxidation.
4. Sterilize — Tools are placed inside a sterilizer for a minimum of 20 minutes to totally eradicate all living organisms from a surface. They use an 83L Markes of Canada Ware Sterilizer (see photo below).
